The Pesta Kaamatan is Sabah's very own, joyous and exuberant rice harvest festival. It is a form of harvest celebrated annually in the state of sabah in Malaysia. It is normally celebrated by the ethnic Kadazandusuns, as well as by others related ethnic groups in the state, and lasts for the whole of the month of May, ending with a public holiday on the 30th and 31st May.
The Harvest Festival features cultural activities, traditional displays, singing and lots of dancing as the focus ot the event for many attendees. An integral part of the Pesta Kaamatan is Unduk Ngadau pageant and Buvazoi Tavantang (Mister Kaamatan) competition. The Unduk Ngadau pageant and Buvazoi Tavantang usually will be held each year in the state and district level. In 2016, we from the organizing committee would like to organize the district level Klang Valley of Mr. Kaamatan pageant as the part of the celebration of Kaamatan Festival in Klang Valley.
Buvazoi Tavantang (Mister Kaamatan) is a male cultural competition which showcasing not only the unique of its people but the traditional costume Mr. Kaamatan has been around since 2007 which the top 3 winner will be sent to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah to compete the rest of contestant from district all over Sabah.
